HEWITT (nee MACKAY) October 1, 1921 - December 28, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband James (1974), her parents Susie Belle (1970) and Strachan MacKay (1971) and a brother James Willie in infancy. She is survived by her Nova Scotia family, daughter Elizabeth (George) Langille, West Branch. Granddaughters; Lorraine (AJ) Jones, Pictou; Marilyn (John) Bigney, West Branch; Beverly (John) Butcher, Brule Shore; Michelle (Paul) Wells, Eastern Passage. During her many trips down East she welcomed great-granddaughters Colbie and Cailyn and great-grandsons; Ryan, Travis, Carson, Nicholas, Spencer and Joshua. Her Winnipeg family are son Vincent (Georgine) and granddaughter Nicole; son Marvin (Gwen) and granddaughters Charlene (Don) Thompson, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; Kathy (Russell) Antymis and grandson Michael. There are also three great-granddaughters Samantha, Rebecca and Sarah, also great-grandson David. Margaret was born in Vancouver and made many places home over the years. She was a homemaker for many years. She worked in the dietary department of the Camp Shilo Hospital, as a bookkeeper at Metals and Alloys and was also circulation manager at the Oak Lake News. She enjoyed curling, golf, bowling and needlework. She was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Branch #1). Sincere gratitude to the staff at Grace General Hospital for their compassion and care and also for the kindness shown to us by the staff at Victorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Viewing will take place prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
