ROBERT GEORGE BLACKBURN April 23, 1935 December 26, 2006 It is with sadness we announce the passing of Robert George Blackburn on December 26, 2006 at his residence. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Bernice, children, Deborah Ann and husband Mark Kelly of Yellowknife, Glenn Courtney and wife Kathy Diane Blackburn and grandchildren, Travis Jared and Samantha Courtney; as well as cousin George and Hanh Girling of Vancouver; in-laws Polly Kohut of Winnipeg, Nick and Rose Gregresh of Edmonton, Ignare and Lil Kulczycki of Abbotsford, Mike and Peggy Kulczyski of Winnipeg, Joe and Connie Kulczycki of Calgary, Pat and Peter Jensen of Winnipeg, Marge and Don Wyllie of Tofield, Alberta and Peter and Donna Kulczycki of Cold Lake, Alberta as well as numerous nephews and nieces in-law. Robert was predeceased by his parents George Archibald and Myrtle Courtney, Uncle Wilf and Claire Girling, Aunt Agnes and Toby Dinardo, father and mother-in-law Peter and Helen Kulzycki, brothers-in-law Paul and Ann Kulczycki, Adam and Carol Kulczycki, Stanley and Elsie Kulczycki, Bill Kohut, nephews Keith and Garry Kulczycki and John Corry. Bob worked for CP Rail for several years. Before his retirement in 1995 he worked for the University of Manitoba. Bob loved his annual trips with his wife to both Maui and Oahu. Special thanks to Deanne and Max Cohen, also to Kathy Blackburn for all the things they did to help out during the difficult times. Special thanks to Rev. Dr. Patrick A. Morand for his weekly visits to the home. Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1679 Pembina Hwy. (at Manahan) with Rev. Dr. Patrick A. Morand presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd.
