Date of Passing: Dec 20, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL HREHORAK July 16, 1922 - December 20, 2006 With angels by his side, Paul peacefully passed away in his sleep on the morning of December 20, 2006. Left to cherish many wonderful memories is his beloved wife of 62 years, Norma; children, Gary (Carole), Paula (Bob) and Michael (Sherri); grandchildren, Bryce, Kyle, Krysta, Garrett, Shawn and Evan; sisters, Mary (Steve), Olga and Minnie and many other extended family members and friends. Paul was predeceased by his father John; mother Anna; brothers, George and Nicholas and sister Millie. Paul was the fifth child out of seven all born in his parent's house on Dudley Avenue in Winnipeg. In May 1941 at the age of 18, Paul started work at MacDonald Bros. Aircraft Ltd. (formally Bristol Aerospace Ltd., now called Magellan Aerospace Corp.) as a sheet metal worker. Paul met his wife Norma at MacDonald Bros. where they both worked in the sheet metal shop. Paul enjoyed parties with friends and playing jokes on his co-workers. He loved to build things. He built a cedar chest, tables, chairs, lamps, kitchen cupboards and many more things that family will keep dear to them. As his children grew up and started families of their own, he became a proud Grandpa six times. He loved spending time with his grandkids, especially at the cottage, which he built in 1985. Paul loved going for walks and riding his bike at the lake. Paul retired for the first time from Bristol as a Supervisor in the Manufacturing Planning department in 1987 at the age of 65. He was asked to come back to work and he did for two more years. In 1989 at 67, he said No more working, it's time for the kids . Paul's sense of humour will be missed the most. He could put a smile on anyone's face and he always will. A celebration of Paul's life will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, family asks that a donation be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Many thanks to Dr. M. Jason, Dr. P. Patel and the staff on the fifth floor of Seven Oaks General Hospital for their wonderful care. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

This picture is a perfect representation of my Grandfather. He was such a nice man. I can't wait until I have Grandchildren so I can carry on the tradition of giving loonies every time I visit - Posted by: Evan Hrehorak (Grandson) on: Apr 23, 2015
