ANNA QUIRING It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Oma, Anna Quiring on December 28, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband Walter, parents Peter and Maria Ewert, brother Peter and infant son Henry. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are daughters, Mary (Patrick) Hewitt and Katie (Mark) Stephens; son Ronald (Janet) Quiring; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Lisa, Darren, Geoffrey, Adam, Janet, Angela and Evan (Jamie). Three sisters, Mary (John) Braun, Gertrude (Jake) Braun and Elizabeth (Karl-Heinz) Richter; sisters-in-law, Maria Quiring, Nettie Quiring, Tina Meyer, Anna Peters, Jessie (Nick) Lowen, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna was born April 22, 1921, in Rosenort, Ukraine and with Walter immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in Coaldale, Alberta and moving to Winnipeg in 1958. Our family was blessed to have a dedicated mother whose greatest joy was providing for her husband, children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren always wanted Oma's zwiebach and plum jam and countless other homemade treats. Anna was short in stature but a dynamo in spirit. She enjoyed time with her family, cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and keeping a well-organized and spotlessly clean home. We wish to thank the many caregivers who helped mom through her latter years. Special thanks to homecare workers Pattie, Liz, Esther, Carli, Clara, Alison and Darlene, and the wonderful staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield Street. Viewing one hour prior to the service. Reverend Edwin Epp presiding. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations may be made in Anna's memory to a charity of their choice. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 2146 Main Street 339-5555
