Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySISTER THERESE PAILLE 1918 - 2006 After a lengthy illness, Sister Thérèse Paillé was peacefully called to her Eternal reward by the Lord on December 29, 2006. She was surrounded by her Sisters, the Grey Nuns and the nursing staff of 3DE of Taché Nursing Centre. Thérèse was born in Ste-Anne-des-Chênes, Manitoba on September 17, 1918. Her parents were Anthony Paillé and Marie Lanctôt and Thérèse was the fifth of a family of nine children. She joined the Grey Nuns at the age of 18 and made her temporary commitment on February 15, 1940. Three years later, she consecrated herself totally to God by perpetual vows, on the footsteps of Saint Marguerite d'Youville. For over thirty years, Sister Thérèse worked as an L.P.N. (Licensed practical Nurse) with the aged, sick and handicapped. Several places were privileged to benefit from Sister Thérèse's dedicated love and kindness: Hospice Taché, Laverendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario, St. Boniface General Hospital, and Ste-Rose General Hospital in Manitoba as well as Gravelbourg Hospital in Saskatchewan and St. Boniface Sanatorium. When she retired from nursing in 1975, Sister Thérèse continued this ministry of charity as a pastoral worker. Woman of faith and prayer, Sister Thérèse was always ready to visit and listen to those in need of friendship and compassion. When she was struck by paralysis, she remained peaceful and abandoned until her dear Lord called her back to His Heavenly kingdom. Besides her religious family, Sister Thérèse leaves to mourn one sister-in-law, Angeline as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers Alphonse, Noé, Joachim, Gerard and Rodrigue; three sisters: Mathilde, Gertrude and Carmelle. The liturgy of the Word will be celebrated on January 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Résidence Despins on 151 Despins Street. The funeral mass will be presided by Father Isa e Blanchette, omi, the next day January 3, at 1:00 p.m. at the same place. The Grey Nuns wish to express their gratitude to the nursing staff and pastoral worker of 3DE of Taché Nursing Centre for their kindness and excellent care towards Sister Thérèse.
