TARAS PATRICK It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father and GiGi Taras Edward Patrick of Thompson, MB on December 31, 2006 at the age of 71 after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Joan (Henzel); son Derrick (Cathy); daughter Wendy (Dan) Melnyk; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren all of Thompson; and brothers, Joe (Lillian), Walter (Natalie), Leonard, and Eugene (Ardine). He was predeceased by his father Michael (March 1959); his mother Emily (November 12, 1990); father-in-law Carl Henzel (August 23, 1985); brother Roman (January 8, 1994); and two sisters-in-law, Kay (October 2002) and Sally (March 9, 2006). He was born December 10, 1935 in Sarto, MB and moved to Thompson on November 18, 1961 to work at Inco. On August 7, 1965 he married Joan Henzel and they resided in Thompson through his retirement (April 30, 1994) and until his passing. Viewing will take place Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sarto, MB with burial to follow at the St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Sarto.
