EILEEN REW July 8, 1912 - December 30, 2006 Surrounded by her beloved family, Eileen passed on to greet her family with the Lord, on December 30, 2006 at Deer Lodge Hospital. Eileen was predeceased by her loving husband George in 2004; brothers, Bernard, Stan, Harry, and Des; sister Lily; Eileen was also predeceased by her nephews, much loved in-laws, and parents. Eileen will be remembered by her daughters, Dawn (Verne) Johnson and Rachael (Dennis) Mierke; grandchildren, Kristjana, Erin (Todd), Trevor (Ida), and Tamara (Vernon); great-grandchildren Hailey, Amy, and Stephanie. Eileen was born and raised in Staffordshire. She actively served in the Second World War as an ambulance driver and a radar technician, met her husband and came to Canada as a war bride. Eileen was active at St. Barnabas Anglican for many years. She enjoyed lawn bowling, sewing, curling, cards, and tending to her flowers. Eileen had a pure heart and thought the best of everyone. She was very proud of her family and we will miss her unconditional love. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge 7E for the loving care shown to Mom over the past three years. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with an interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's name may be made to the Deer Lodge Foundation, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3.
