MATHILDA GABEL Peacefully on December 29, 2006 Mathilda (Tillie) Gabel (nee Monk), passed away at the Lion's Place Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB. Mom was born on February 13, 1913, and was raised and lived in Camper until she met her husband Peter Gabel. They moved to Winnipeg in 1936 and returned to the farm in Camper in the 1970s. They had two houses - one in Winnipeg and one on the farm in Camper. It was the farm that was home' to them. A few years following Dad's passing Mom returned to Winnipeg where she resided with her daughter Kathleen. Mom moved to the Lion's Place Personal Care Home in 2000. Mother loved gardening, crocheting, knitting, quilt making and bingo. She loved to cook and she was a great Mother. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1980; two brothers, Jack and John; sisters, Katie, Lizzie, Minnie, Rosie, Mary and Emily; daughter-in-law Nancy Gabel; son-in-law Bert Kohler. Mom is survived by her daughters, Delores and Kathleen and son Donald, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She will be sadly missed by all. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at the Camper Community Hall with Pastor Jane Zinken officiating, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Dog Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Gabel, Randy Gabel, Wayne Kohler, Don Warenko, Richard Monk and David Monk.
