Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET MCDONALD (nee MONTGOMERY) It is with great sadness and deep sorrow that the family of Margaret McDonald announces her peaceful passing in her home with her family on December 28, 2006 at age 79. Margaret was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 27, 1927. She lived in London for a time during the war but returned to Glasgow where she met and married her loving husband Joseph in 1948. With four children, (Alicia, Joseph, Pauline and Philip) they immigrated to Canada in 1953 and settled in Winnipeg. Their youngest child Peter was born in Canada 11 years later. She always felt that Canada was very good to them. After retirement Margaret travelled around the world and met many friends in her travels. Her husband Joseph, her son Joseph, and son-in-laws, John Sykes and Donald Berreth predeceased Margaret. Her daughters, Alicia Berreth and Pauline Sykes; two sons, Philip and Peter McDonald, and their wives, Shannon and Nichole-Dane survive her. She will be missed by all of her grandchildren, Pamela and Phillip Swanson, Joseph and Timothy McDonald, Keira Sernowsky, Meriya Dyble, and Marc McDonald, Laurie Baldwin, Sean McDonald and Brayden McDonald (who held a very special place in her heart being the youngest). To date she has seven great-grandchildren who will miss her very much. And in the end, a life well spent. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St., at 10:00 a.m. A reception in Margaret's honour will follow in Fred Douglas Place on the A floor, 333 Vaughan St. where she has lived for the past 17 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
