WILLIAM (BILL) ALEXANDER SMITH After a brief illness, Bill passed away peacefully at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 77 years. Bill was predeceased by his parents Ernest Howard Smith and Catherine Smith (nee Kennedy), sisters Colleen Diepold and Noni Smith. Left to cherish his beautiful memory, wife Annette (nee Lavigne) and children: Michael (Carole), Howard, Paul (Shelley), Greg, Diane (Eric), Klawis and Cynthia (Danny) Smyth. Bill leaves two sisters, Gerry Goodman and Sheila Waddell. Also left to mourn are 12 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 300 Donalda Ave., East Kildonan . Interment of the cremated remains will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (phone 787-4143).
