ALFRED GERALD MATTHEWS Gerald passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Gerald was born on April 6, 1926 in Otteburne, Manitoba. In 1956 he moved to West St. Paul and resided there until October of last year. Gerry worked for HL Perry, which was taken over by Johnson Terminals, for 28 years. As a hobby Gerald maintained honeybees from 1948 to 2004. His other great enjoyment was his gardening. Gerald will be lovingly remembered by his brother Bruce (Lenore), nephew Dave (Carmen), niece Barb (John), great-nieces Lena and Julie, close friends Chris and Donna and many relatives and friends. Gerald wanted to express his sincere gratitude to everyone who visited, phoned or sent a card during his illness. The family wishes to thank Dr. Elberdiesy and all of the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Gerald's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of their choice. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home, interment and reception to follow.
