JAMES WIDISH James Widish passed away on December 20, 2006 at the Arborg Hospital after a short illness. Predeceased by his wife Patricia in 1998 as well as two sisters and four brothers. Leaving to mourn his passing are his children, Ted (Linda) of Acton, ON, Elsie of Victoria, BC, Doris (Jerry) of St. Andrews, MB, Morris (Maureen) of Creston, BC, and Darcie (Hiedi) of Winnipeg, MB. Also four grandsons, six granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. Also his sister of Arborg Katie Kornick and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad lived his life with integrity, dignity and devotion to family. He lived a full and meaningful life and left the world a better place than he found it. He contributed much to the community he lived in by sitting on the School Board through the years when his children attended school, was an active member of the Farmers Union and the NDP Party from their conception. For 92 years, Dad has seen and done much and took pride in his accomplishments in his later years. Dad instilled the value of a good education in his children and always encouraged them to strive hard to achieve their goals. He also introduced them to the joys of reading and he himself spent countless hours in that pursuit. The family would like to thank the Arborg Hospital nursing and medical staff for the care they provided to Dad and the support and compassion that they exhibited towards the family during Dad's passing. A memorial and celebration of Dad's life will be held on January 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church in Arborg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evergreen Regional Library Arborg Branch, Box 4053, Arborg, MB, R0C 0A0; or the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church in Arborg. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
