Date of Passing: Dec 31, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE KUCHMA (nee HALLEK) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear wife and mother, Anne, on December 31, 2006 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Anne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Peter; daughters Pat and Janet; son Ken; sister-in-law Helen (Peter) Moroz; nephews Ron (Joan) and Robert, and great-niece Stephanie. She was predeceased by her parents, Sophie and Konstantin Hallek, brother Frank and daughter Marianne. Anne was born in Winnipeg and lived her entire life in North Winnipeg where she made many friends. Anne had many achievements during her lifetime, but the most important thing in her life was her devotion to her family. All friends and family who visited were always made to feel special, particularly when sampling her excellent baking. Gardening was a passion of Anne's, her flowers brightening up the neighbourhood. She enjoyed petit point, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint in her spare time. She also enjoyed travelling to many places in Canada and the United States. Anne was a religious person, a member of Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, who participated in various church organizations. These included The New Horizons Seniors' Club and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of which she was a member for over 50 years. The family would like to thank the staff of Unit 4E at St. Boniface General Hospital for their care and compassion. A solemn divine liturgy will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. with Father Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Vichnaya Pam'yat CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
