ADELINE SOKOLOWSKI On December 28, 2006 at Selkirk, Manitoba, Adeline Sokolowski aged 68. Friends and family of Adeline paid their respects on January 4, 2007. Adeline Sokolowski was born and raised in Tyndall, Manitoba. She was the daughter of Alexander and Victoria Litkowich and was one of 12 siblings. Throughout Adeline's life she shared in the raising of her family, worked at a variety of places including, a mattress factory, the Gordon Hotel, The Lord, the Betel Home and then retiring in January 1998 with 21 years from the Selkirk General Hospital. She was a person with close friends and strong ties to her family. In 2000, she suffered a life altering stroke which took away her ability to walk and speak but did not take away her love of her life or her family. After her stroke she still travelled to British Columbia for weeks at time and continued to be an integral stronghold to her family. Adeline faced many challenges in her life and always came out on top, her inner strength and positive outlook helped and encouraged all who knew and loved her. Her recent passing was unexpected and heart wrenching to all of us. She donated to a variety of charities when she was working and even after she had retired. She always gave and did more for others than she did for herself.
