JEAN VICTORIA PALYS 1923 - 2007 Jean Victoria Palys, née Lozanski, beloved mother of Ted Palys of Vancouver, BC; mother-in-law of Anne - Marie Lascelles; grandmother of Tadz Palys, Félix Lascelles - Palys and Louis Lascelles - Palys; sister to brothers Walter (Marlene) and Richard (Annette); and sisters Win, Lily (Michael), Victoria, Josephine (George) and Frances (Leo); and Auntie Jean to many nieces, nephews and Godchildren, passed away peacefully on January 4, at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 83. She leaves us to join her dear Walter, to whom she was married for 38 years and who predeceased her in 1987; as well as parents John and Mary Lozanski; and brothers Ted, Stan, Casey and Ed. Jean was very active in the Holy Ghost Catholic Church Sokol dancers; belonged to the Polish Combatants Club; was a member of St. John Brebeuf Catholic Church and sang in the choir; was active in Folklorama; and an avid bowler. She served as a department manager with Sears until her retirement. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 9, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street; Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Wednesday, January 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue; interment at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jean's memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3A 1P6. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586 - 8044
