DENNIS HALLIDAY
Born: Feb 08, 1942
Date of Passing: Jan 02, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS HALLIDAY It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and papa on January 2, 2007 at the age of 64 after a brief courageous battle with lung cancer. Left to mourn are his loving wife Maureen; children, Wendy (Trevor), Dennis, Lisa (Glen) along with six grandchildren, Aimee, Calvin, Ellisse, Carlin (mother Geraldine), Sidney and Austin; uncle Roy (Doreen); cousins Gary and Kim; and numerous relatives and friends. Denny was born on February 8, 1942 to Joe and Elizabeth weighing 2 lbs at birth. He lived his life with integrity; ensuring people he loved were taken care of. With a quick mind he was eager to learn and share information. He could talk to anyone and accepted them as they were. Denny loved to read and was crafty with words. He enjoyed crosswords and jumbles. He had a quick wit and was a natural comedian. He was one of the youngest to successfully write the power engineer exams. He worked in Thompson and Resolute Bay. After his marriage to Maureen he worked at Pinawa. When Dennis gained employment at Seagram's, they built their home in Camp Morton. Family was important to Denny - he was a reliable, loving husband and father. He would spend many hours working beside his son Dennis in his garage, he was innovative and loved building his own tools and equipment. Retiring early after 30 years he continued to work and taught himself to use computers and the Internet. He enjoyed his time at IHA working with Glen and Ron. He was most proud of his good friendships and car projects and was disappointed to leave unfinished work. Thank you to all family, friends and professionals for their support. Your visits brightened his days. Most of all thanks to Dad for the laughs and great sense of humour. You live on through your family, all our love. A Memorial Service will be held in the summer.
