NORMAN SALTEL Surrounded by love, our dear husband, father and pepère passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at the Health Sciences Centre. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Marie Florence; children, Marcel (Teresa), Jacqueline (Bryan), Cathleen (Rossel); grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Ryan, Zachary and Alain. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Marie, Florence, Juliette, Angeline, Georgette and Germaine; brothers, Florent, Albert, Ephrem, Michel and Léo; and numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Henri Saltel July 5, 1972; his mother Albertine (Gauthier, Saltel, Vandale) February 1, 2005; his brother René Saltel June 3, 1996; and by his stepfather Frank Vandale January 26, 2000. Norman loved many things in his life but first and foremost his family, his grandchildren and people. Norman was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Conseil Goulet) which he volunteered for 17 years at Festival du Voyageur. Always ready to give a helping hand whether it was family or friends. He loved carpentry, gardening, music and a good game of cards. Active pallbearers are his friends, Walter Krahn, Justin Krahn, James Purchase, Dave Hisco, Bernie Dupuis and Fern Clemente. The family wishes to express their sincere thankfulness for the wonderful care given to Norman by the staff of Unit 4A at the Health Sciences Centre. Special thanks to Dr. Jacob. Viewing will take place on Monday, January 8 at 10:30 a.m. with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald Street. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 (phone 787-4143). Its been seven years since your passing. It still feels like yesterday. Your family misses you everyday. I know the day of my graduation that you were there. And I know you will be there for Ryan's too. I love and miss you deeply.
