Date of Passing: Jan 06, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA (PAT) SABERWAL April 2, 1943 - January 6, 2007 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Pat Saberwal. She passed away peacefully on January 6, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Raj Saberwal in 2001, her father Louis Munday in 1988, and her mother Charlotte Burnett Munday in 1986. She leaves to mourn her children Dev, Meena (Shawn), Anita (Rodney), as well as her grandchildren, who loved their Nana so much: Bryce, Maya, Reyna, and Ava. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Louis Munday of Bradford, England and David Munday of Stirling, Scotland. Pat was born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 2, 1943. She worked at several different jobs before going into the nursing profession. She gave up nursing to raise a family. In 1963, she met Raj Saberwal, a young medical student at the University of Glasgow. They married on December 27, 1966 and they were devoted to each other until his passing on February 4, 2001. She said she lost the love of her life that day. In 1974, Pat left her beloved Glasgow with her husband and two young children to immigrate to Canada. They settled in Arborg, where Raj established a medical practice. Pat missed her family and Scotland dearly and had a difficult time adjusting to life in a new country. With time, she began to consider Canada her home. Her third child was born in Arborg, delivered by her own husband. She was a wonderful wife, mother, nana, friend, and homemaker. She was extroverted, funny, vivacious, and always the life of a party. She was a great cook and taught herself how to make Indian cuisine, so that she could prepare all her husband's favourites. She loved animals and we always had at least two pets in our home at all times. Stray cats that visited our home were always treated to a plate of food and a saucer of milk. She had such a kind heart and loving nature. We will miss and love her forever and feel blessed to have had her as our mother. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday January 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Blvd. We would like to thank the staff of 3N at the Grace Hospital for the care they gave our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. You can only have one mother Patient kind and true; No other friend in all the world, Will be the same to you. When other friends forsake you, To mother you will return, For all her loving kindness, She asks nothing in return. As we look upon her picture, Sweet memories we recall, Of a face so full of sunshine, And a smile for one and all. Sweet Jesus, take this message, To our dear mother up above; Tell her how we miss her, And give her all our love.
