MARIE-LAURE LAGASSE (neé DELORME) Marie-Laure Lagassé died peacefully on January 6, 2007 at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home at the age of 82 years. She leaves us to join Osias to whom she was married for 55 years and who predeceased her in 1999. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Amanda Delorme; sisters, Marie-Marthe (Martha), Marie-Agnes and Fernande; brothers, Albert (Sonny), Claude and Romeo. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gilles, Dianne and Ken and very special son-in-law Hub who has a message for her I'll miss you little buddy ; sister Constance and brothers, Emmanuel and Ephrem; grandchildren, Nadine and husband Frank, Daniel and girlfriend Carlee, Ryan and Robin who will all miss Mémère's loving hugs, kisses and smiles. Also, she leaves numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was raised in St. Adolphe, MB, by her loving parents as one of 10 siblings. Aside from devoting her life to raising her children and sharing duties on the family farm, Marie-Laure was an accomplished sewer and seamstress. She used those skills while working for the Art Mending Company. She later provided home care for her sister Martha who was stricken with MS. Mom retired in 1988 after working several years at the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home. In 2005, she suffered a life altering stroke which took away her ability to speak but did not take away her zest for life or love for her family. The family whishes to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care given to Marie-Laure by the staff of the St. Norbert Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or charity of your choice. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church in St. Adolphe, MB on Wednesday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. preceded by prayers at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at a later date.
