Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWENDY JOANNE BALLAST (nee VINCE) October 1, 1947 January 6, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Ballast on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital. Wendy was born in Neepawa, Manitoba and raised in Ashern, Manitoba. At the age of 17, Wendy moved to Dominion City to work as a telephone operator. That is where she met and married Armand in July 1967. Wendy and Armand resided in Dominion City with their four children until their move to Morden, Manitoba in 1981 and then moving to Winnipeg in 1988. Wendy was a wonderful mother and homemaker and her passions were sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening and spending time with family at the cabin in Silver Bay. In 1984 Wendy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which slowly took away her freedom. It was then in 1996 she moved to Tache Center where she resided until her passing. Wendy will be lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren, Andy, Greg (Jennine, Karlene), Carissa (Robert, Janessa, Garrett), and Vince (Erin, Berg). She will also be missed by her sister Beverly (Norman); her brothers Wayne (Roberta) and Greg (Barbara); and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Wendy was predeceased by her parents Bert and Edna Vince; her brother Ted Vince; and nephew Earl Dolyniuk. We would like to thank all the staff and residents of 2DE at Tache Center for all the love, care, companionship and compassion that was given to Wendy. We are very thankful and grateful that you were part of her family for so many years. Cremation will take place as per Wendy's request and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Church, 755 Golspie Street, Winnipeg. Interment to follow in the Inwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wendy's memory to the MS Society of Canada, 141 Bannatyne Avenue, Wpg., Manitoba, R3B 0R3.
