Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID VICKERS HENDERSON David Vickers Henderson of Victoria, BC, passed away quietly on January 1, 2007 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, Trail, B.C. after suffering a severe stroke on Boxing Day. He had enjoyed a wonderful Christmas surrounded by all his family. David was born on March 26, 1924 in Strathclair, Manitoba to George and Margaret (Daisy) Henderson. He graduated from pharmacy in 1950 and re-enlisted with the Canadian Armed Forces the following year. He served as a pharmacist with the military for over 25 years in various postings including Korea and Germany as well as a short stint in Egypt with the UN forces. In retirement, he enjoyed hunting and gardening. David is survived and dearly missed by his wife Joyce, daughters: Leslie, Vicki, and Lisa; sons-in-law Dennis, Doug, and Lorren; grandchildren Thea, Paige, Michael, Daniel, Andrew, and Robert. (How he loved to brag about his grandchildren!) He is also survived by his younger siblings Doug and Mavis. David was predeceased by his older sisters Marguerite, Florence, and Doris (Monty). The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Luke's Anglican Church, Strathclair. Interment will follow in the Strathclair Municipal Cemetery. Following the interment a time of lunch and fellowship will be held in the Strathclair Municipal Hall. Rev. Canon Paul Curtis will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Ducks Unlimited Canada. Remembrances and condolences may be emailed to raesfs@mts.net.
