CAMERON MURRAY KIRK 1920 - 2007 Peacefully with his family by his side, Cameron Kirk passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre. Cameron was predeceased by his loving wife Doreen, son Bob; sisters, Isabelle, Grace and Gwen; brothers, Ted, Vinal and Cliff. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his son Alan and Barb Kirk, children, Anne, John and Alison; his daughter Sheila and Rodney Cook, children, Erin and Evan; and daughter-in-law Kathleen Kirk. He is also survived by Marion Kirk, Don and Donna Doyle, Ron Nichol and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad spent his youth at the family farm in Kane, Manitoba. After completing high school, Dad enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force and served his country overseas during the Second World War. Cameron and Doreen were married in 1947 and initially resided in Winnipeg. In 1951 they moved to their farm in Sanford, Manitoba where they raised their family. Along with farming, Dad worked as a Journeyman Electrician. Dad retired with Mom to Sanford in 1982; however he remained actively involved with Alan in the farm operation for many enjoyable years. Dad was active in the Sanford community, serving as a school trustee for 10 years and as a member of the Sanford Legion. He enjoyed golfing at Carman, having coffee with his friends at the legion and working in the shop at the farm. Cameron took pride in his wood working projects and his long hours of work will be cherished for generations to come. He always treasured time spent with his family. Dad was a generous, loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. A memorial service will take place on Friday, January 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. The family wishes to thank Dr. C. Woelk; Home Care staff; Agnes, Becky, Val, Theresa, Sandi, Irene and Georgina; and staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre for the care and compassion provided to our father.
