Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) PETERS In his 90th year, on January 3, 2007, our beloved husband, Dad, Papa and friend to all, passed away peacefully. William (Bill) Peters was a man that had a strong work ethic and an incredible thirst for knowledge. He lived life to the fullest, by the motto, Live every day as if it were your last . Wild Bill's boundless energy, giving heart, and helping hand made the world a better place for others. Bill was born in Winnipeg and lived his life in the Elmwood area. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret; daughters, Marlyn (Larry) and Linda (Ken); grandchildren, Cathy (Glenn), Lori (Keith), Curtis (Kimberley), Pamela (Faron), Kevin (Tammy); great-grandchildren, Jason (Brooke) Missy, Taylor, Emma, Carter and Troy. He is also survived by his sister Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. From his humble beginnings, Bill created a life for himself and his family that was truly blessed. He retired from the C.N.R. Shops in Transcona in 1978 and spent the next 28 winters in Florida and summers at Jessica Lake. Wild Bill loved to water ski, especially on Canada Day and July 4th, doing the Canadian and American flag salute. Bill enjoyed building, fishing, gardening, picking pidpenky, blueberries and cooking. His fish fries, corn fritters, and Sunday morning pancakes were the best. A celebration of Bill's life will take place on Friday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Transcona Memorial United Church on 209 Yale Ave. West, with Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating. A memory card will be there to share your stories. Many thanks to the angels on 3E at Concordia Hospital, Dr. D. Caners for his many years of care, and to the Paramedics, Eric and Devon, who helped make our last Christmas together possible, and very special. Bill's legacy will be his generosity, kindness and love. Our memories of him are treasures that will live in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 224-1525.
