MARGARET M. JOHNSTONE (nee LAING) November 19, 1918 to January 8, 2007. Margaret McIntyre Johnstone (nee Laing) passed away on January 8, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh Johnstone and her brother Jack Seddon. Margaret is survived by her sister-in-law Maryon Seddon, her nephew John Seddon (Lisetta) of Kelowna, B.C. and their children John and Michelle Seddon; her niece Janet Riley (Michael); and her niece Barbara Baczynsky (Dennis) and their children Kathryn Hildebrand (Chad) and Jill Baczynsky (Rick Venet). Margaret was educated in Winnipeg and began her career at Manitoba Blue Cross, moved to Perth's for a time and later joined Great-West Life where she was employed until she took an early retirement. An avid sewer and accomplished embroiderer and lace maker, she enjoyed the many friendships she made over the years in these hobbies. Margaret had a keen wit and maintained a great sense of humor even in later years as her physical condition limited her mobility. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to neighbours, friends and her lace ladies who supported Margaret in living independently over the past few years and to members of Westminster United Church and friends, especially Norm Donogh, who visited Margaret in hospital. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held in the spring. Donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3A-1P6, Westminster United Church, 745 Westminster Ave., Winnipeg R3G-1A5, or to a charity of choice.
