Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE ALICE CHARLOTTE FOUBERT April 20, 1926 - January 1, 2007 It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Marie Foubert announces her peaceful passing on January 1, 2007 at Lion's Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie. Daughter of the late Henry John and Martha Bertha Walmsley, Marie is predeceased by her husband Paul (1998), sisters Ruth, Betty and brother Edward. She is survived by sisters Norma Walmsley (Wakefield, QC) and Dorothy Walmsley (Portage la Prairie), daughters Karen, Marilyn, Denise (David), Paulette (Stewart), Theresa (Tom) and son Rick (Jacqi). Grandchildren David Jr., Jodi, Natasha, Michael, Chad, Brendan, Leslie, Amelia, Chloe, Tyler and great-grandchildren, Kristian, Sheldon, Ariel, Emily, Nichole, Chantelle, Mikayla, and Noah. Marie was born in Elm Creek, Manitoba where she also married and raised her family of six. A resourceful homemaker, she annually canned the bounty from Paul's abundant garden. Her creative flair was apparent in her home and the clothes she sewed for the girls. Marie loved to bake and was fondly teased for her appetite for homemade pie. Marie loved music and dancing and could whistle hundreds of tunes. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered. Thanks to the nursing staff at Lion's Prairie Manor who provided loving care and laughter in the last few years she resided there. Mom always had an extra hug or word of encouragement for her friends there and will be missed especially by her friend and companion, Bill. To celebrate Marie's life, family and friends are invited to a service to be held at 2:00 p.m. on the January 20, 2007 at the Mennonite Bretheren Church located in Elm Creek, with her final resting place at Elm Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be in her memory to the Manitoba Alzheimer's Society, the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Lion's Prairie Manor or charity of choice.
