DENNIS HUGH TOWNSEND 1941 - 2007 A kind and gentle man has left a large void in our lives. Just shy of his 66th Birthday, Dennis Townsend passed away peacefully with family by his side on January 10, 2007, at St. Boniface Hospital. Dennis was born January 15, 1941, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. On March 16, 1963, he wed the love of his life, Fay Hornbeck. He will be forever missed by his wife of 43 years Fay and children Christine (Dan), Cameron, and Glenn (Hillary), and grandchildren Connor, Robyn, Mackenzie, Alexander, Jacquelyn, Nicholas, Marcus and Paige. His loss will also be felt by his brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and Auntie Eleanor. Dennis was employed at Manitoba Hydro for 37 years, retiring in 2000. Retirement provided him more time to enjoy his grandchildren, the family cottage at Betula Lake, and good times at Traverse Bay. Betula was the location of so many treasured memories over the years. Dennis was a quiet, honorable man and a loving husband, father, and grandfather, never hesitating to lend a helping hand to friends and family. His family will greatly miss the concern and love he showed to us all. The family would like to thank Drs. Trevor Lee and Ralph Wong, the wonderful nurses on the fifth floor at St. Boniface Hospital that cared for Dennis, and Oncology Clinician Bonnie. Thank you for your compassionate kindness and care. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dennis's life will be held at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, on January 15 at 3:00 p.m. Should friends desire, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba would be appreciated. -You Should Have Heard Him Listen- Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
