MARGUERITE LOEWEN (nee BECKER) Peacefully at the Alta Vista Manor, Ottawa on Thursday, January 11, 2007, age 85. Predeceased by her husband Hank and infant daughter Catherine Susan. Loving mother of Gail Roberts (Don) and grandmother of Bill, Margaret and Julia. Great-grandmother of Zöe. Predeceased by her brothers Edward Becker and Art Becker. She will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews and caring friends. Marguerite was honoured to receive the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal awarded in appreciation of 18 years of volunteerism with Grimes Lodge at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, January 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa. Special thanks to the staff at the Alta Vista Manor for the excellent and kind care Marguerite received. For those wishing donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hawthorne United Church.
