Walter will be deeply missed by his loving wife Irene of 44 years; his beloved children, Wayne, Darlene (Dave), Bryan (Cathy); and his dearest grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Kristen, Chelsey, Kaitlyn, Mikayla and Brandon. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Mary, Vickie (Walter), Anne, Helen (Ron), Jane; and brothers, John, Frank, Sarafin, and Andrew; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. Walter was predeceased by his daughter Debbie; father Albert; and recently his mother Stella in September of 2006; mother-in-law Lillian Zawasky; and brothers-in-law, Metro Genyk and Mike Yuzwa. Walter was born and raised in Zbaraz, MB on the family farm. At a very young age, Walter learned what hard work was all about by helping his parents on the farm. Later Walter moved to Winnipeg where after a few jobs he learned the construction trade where he ended his 38 year career as Superintendent for Mulder Construction. He was highly respected and a very dedicated employee. Walter brought this dedication and respect into all aspects of his life. One of his greatest accomplishments, next to raising his family, was farming his own land in Fisherton, MB. Family was important to Walter as he enjoyed family gatherings especially at Christmas. He also enjoyed Ukrainian music and dancing and watching his grandson Tyler play hockey. Walter, Dad, and Gigi, we love you and we will miss you dearly. Pallbearers will be grandson Cody D'Aoust, and nephews, Derek Genyk, Jeff Genyk, Darrell Humeniuk, Chris Yuzwa, and Kevin Sumka. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel at 1020 Main St., Winnipeg, MB with Father Walter Klimchuk officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main St. You were taken from us too soon, and we know you are in God's hands now. VICHNAYA PAMYAT
