MICHAEL KRESSY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, gigi and great gigi, Mike Kressy, aged 86 years, of Gimli, at the Gimli Community Health Centre on Thursday, January 11, 2007. Dad farmed throughout his life and also worked for many years as a night cook at the air base in Gimli until its closing. Dad loved nature. He took great pleasure in watching the deer and the birds. Dad was a happy go lucky guy who entertained us with his stories. Dad loved his grandchildren dearly and spent many happy times with them. They will cherish the special memories of their gigi forever. Mom and Dad would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 19th of this year. Mike will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Stella, daughters Rose Prokop and son-in-law Tony and Jean Golko and son-in-law Ken. Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Darlene (Jerry), Tammy (Steve), Jennifer (Vali) and Melanie (Ron) and his great-grandson Stephan. He also is survived by Jack (Angela) and family; sisters Olga, Annie and Elizabeth; brother Walter; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Wasyl and Anna and siblings Orest, John, Steve, Mary, Helen and Lena. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 16 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, Gimli with Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. Interment will follow in the North Foley Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel and the nursing staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre and a special thanks to Lindsay who was extra nice to Dad. Dad, we love you and we miss you so much VICHNAYA PAM'YAT Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
