Ian Gemmill and I sometimes used to call on Laurence on our way to Kelvin. Bjorg would always greet us at the door with incredible warmth, and the words, "Laurence will be down in a minute." Just for fun, I took to mimicking Bjorg's distinctive cadence - and years and years later, I told my daughter Neta, "Laurence will be down in a minute." I explained this, and the sentence became one of our in-references, and Neta and I sometimes say it to this day. Bjorg is remembered (and sometimes even mimicked) with great affection. She was a truly lovely lady. - Posted by: Nicholas Rice (Acquaintance) on: Jan 15, 2007
