NICHOLAS HARRIS September 8, 1915 January 12, 2007 With family by his side, Nicholas Harris went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday January 12, 2007. Nicholas was predeceased by his wife Doris and son Bruce, his brothers Bill and Henry; his sisters Teenie, Mary and Margaret. He leaves to mourn his sons, George (Shirley), James, Fred (Marie), Paul (Marlene) and Ed (Tammy). He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Fernando, Francisco; Shannon, Timothy; Daniel, Charles (Lindsay), Andrew, Matthew; Adam, Sarah; as well as sister Gertie (Bernard), brothers Jack (Teenie), John, George (Ina). Nick was born on a farm near Ashern, Manitoba and later moved with his parents to Winnipeg. After he married Doris in 1942 they moved north of Winnipeg where they ran a farm and raised six sons. Nick always enjoyed socializing with family and friends. He was a lifelong supporter of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and in his retirement years he enjoyed many games of pool with his friends at Donwood West. A viewing will take place on Friday January 19, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Ave. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 20, 2007 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. at New Life Church in Stonewall Manitoba. A lunch will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's memory may be made to Donwood Manor, 171 Donwood Dr Winnipeg, MB R2G 0V9.
