RICHARD LETWIN Richard Letwin passed peacefully on January 12, 2007 at the age of 76 years with his loving wife of fifty years at his bedside. He is most dearly remembered by his wife, Rose, with whom he recently and joyously celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, his sons Glen (Wilmy) of Gull Lake, MB, James, and daughter Karen Letwin (Jeff Levack) of Calgary, AB; his sisters Winnie Baker, Helen Palka, and his brothers, Lawrence and Clarence. Richard's in-laws and many nieces and nephews will also greatly miss him. He was predeceased by his son Allan, his sisters June and Marie, and his brother, Paul. Richard was born in Thalberg, Manitoba where he lived until 1954 when he moved to Winnipeg and met his wife, Rose in 1955 and married her in 1956. They spent all their years together as an inseparable couple and raised four beautiful children. As a father, he didn't miss one day of work to make sure he provided well for his family yet he spent every spare waking hour with his children and wife. In his young adult years, as the first son to his parents, he provided all that he could to help support his siblings. Before his passing and as he made realization of his illnesses and the consequences that may follow, he so passionately admitted his love for Rose, his children, and his life. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews Darren Letwin, Danny Letwin, Mark Letwin, Jim Baker, Wally Rebec and Raymond Rebec. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who helped Richard through his illness. A special thanks to all of Richard's family and friends for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation with respect to Richard to an organization of your choice will be welcomed. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

  • Although I didn't know Mr. Letwin very well, I can tell he was a great man because of the children he raised which I am proud to call my friends. My wife and I extend our deepest sympathy to all. - Posted by: Cole Smith (Acquaintance) on: Jan 16, 2007
