LORRAINE SMITH (SCHULTZ) (nee DAVIES) It is with great sorrow and overwhelming sadness to announce the passing of my dear mother, who passed away at the age of 62 years on Friday, January 12, 2007 at the Deer Lodge Centre. Mom will be cherished in the memories of her only son Shane Schultz, wife Karen, her sister and Best Friend Darlene, husband Ron Klassen, her father Glenn Davies, niece Shannon and husband Jason Brown with their two boys Cole, and Conner, who she fondly adored. She was predeceased by her mother Marjorie Davies in 2000. Born in the R.M. of Thompson, growing up in Manitou, Lorraine moved to Winnipeg in 1966, where she lived raising her son in the Grant Park Area. Mom cherished gardening and outdoor activities. Her fondest moments was spending time on various summer vacations with her family and life long friends. Lorraine's greatest passion in life came the day her son Shane was born. She loved him so unconditionally, always supporting him along the way. She made it her mission to support him in his sports, from running up and down the soccer fields, to watching countless volleyball games, golf, to his love of Curling. Later on in life she moved into Shalom Gardens as she fondly remembered her friendships finding it one of the best places that she ever lived. Due to illness mom moved into Deer Lodge where she met her roommate Joan. Joan's unselfishness was always there to help mom overcome any obstacles that came her way. They both fought this illness with the utmost dignity and grace. They laughed, and comforted each other, giving each other a sense of security. Special thanks to Sally, her daily visits and caring that meant so much. Lorraine's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (at the corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue) We cannot express enough our appreciation and gratitude to all the staff of the Deer Lodge Centre 4th floor for all their dedication and continuous care and support. To Joan's family words cannot express enough...please know your in our thoughts and prayers as we thank you for always being there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Deer Lodge Centre or to a charity of one's choice. Lorraine's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
