NICHOLAS MENDRES On Monday, January 15, 2007, Nicholas passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 92. Besides his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary, he is survived by son Donald (Susan) of New York; daughter-in-law Alison and her children, Carla and Alexandra as well as extended family. Nicholas was predeceased by his son Konrad (1998); brothers, Michael, Peter, George, Adam and William. Nicholas was born on March 6, 1914 and raised in Winnipeg and lived throughout his life with his family. He went to Norquay and St. James School. Nicholas was employed as an engineer at Canada Packers and Carling Brewery prior to his retirement. He enjoyed travelling, reading and working in his garden. The family would like to thank the staff of Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Deacon Gordon Mendres officiating. Interment to follow at a later date.
