JODIE ARLENE FAST May 2, 1953 - January 17, 2007 Peacefully, after a wonderful, caring heart struck its last beat, one of Earth's special angels, with dazzling silver wings, journeyed to a peaceful and serene place devoid of all pain. With the loving care of her soulmate John Brady by her side, Jodie lost a short battle to cancer. Growing up in Transcona, she graduated from Murdoch McKay Collegiate. She enjoyed a very rewarding career with the Provincial Government spanning over 30 years. Jodie worked in S.T.E.P. Services eventually progressing to the position of Placement Consultant where she co-coordinated interviews for students with several employers; Manitoba Hydro was one of the largest, where she developed many lifelong associates and friends. She enjoyed being busy and loved people. She always seemed to be volunteering for one event or another such as the United Way, Pan-Am Games, Children's Hospital Research Foundation and too many more to mention. Jodie was also the hit of any gathering and never failed to light up the room with her infectious smile and eyes, genuine warmth and special unique greeting. She enjoyed her summers at Winnipeg Beach and Pioneer Bay specifically, the wonderful times shared with John. Jodie was predeceased by both parents, Neil and Audrey. She is survived by the love of her life, John Brady; brothers, Braden (Kathy) and Rick (Terry); nieces and nephew, Audra (Dwayne and Cailea), Christine (Corey), Blane (Sharla), Treana; Uncle Earl Fast; many cousins and very dear, lifelong friend, Diane Fisher; You are loved. Jodie had many close friends that will not be forgotten. You all held a special place in Jodie's life. We cannot express enough, our appreciation and gratitude to all the staff of Riverview Health Centre, 3rd floor, for their dedication, continuous care and support. Special thanks to Lorraine and Barb for always being there. Also many thanks to Dr. P. Pittman and Dr. B. Zabolotny at the Manitoba Clinic. No formal service will be held and cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jodie's life will be held in the near future, notice pending. Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made to CancerCare, Manitoba, #1160-675 McDermot, Winnipeg, MB, if so desired. You touched so many lives; You will be with us forever.
