Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARLINE JOAN WHYTE February 28, 1939 - January 16, 2007 Arline Joan Whyte went to be with our Lord peacefully on January 16, 2007 at Victoria General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Joan was predeceased by her father Joseph Goodman and her mother Phyliss Goodman. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Murphy, daughter Deborah Hall (her husband Fred Hall), son Jeffrey, step-daughter Catherine Murphy, all of Winnipeg and sister Jacquie Block (her husband Robert Block) of Penticton, BC. Joan is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Danielle, Tyler, Lisa, Jordan, Colm, Lara and Matthew. Joan had a long and rewarding career with the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba where she took great pride in the helping of others, which was the very essence of Joan. After her retirement, Joan's most joyful days were spend travelling with Bob, volunteering with The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, and quiet evenings spent with close friends. Joan was also a hockey grandma and could often be found in the stands at the local hockey arenas shouting words of encouragement to her grandson's as they played. Joan loved a good football game and attended Bomber games regularly. Equally, she enjoyed the theatre. In the last few years Joan was a member of the Springs Church family. She loved her church and looked forward to attending each week. Joan was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt (to Terry, Todd, Jodi and Shelley), friend and grandmother. Joan will be missed dearly by all those who knew her including her beloved dog Max. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Victoria General Hospital. A special thanks to nurses Kristy and Elsa for your care and compassion. Also a very special thanks to Pastor Leon, Pastor Lewis and especially Pastor Ernest for your love, support, encouragement and prayers. A celebration of Joan's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Boulevard in Winnipeg. Private viewing for family and friends will commence at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, Suite 100, 4 Fort Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 1C4.
