JOAN ROBINSON (nee JACOBSON) December 29, 1934 January 17, 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife and mother, Joan Robinson, on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in the Grace Hospital at the age of 72 years. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband Jim, daughter Sue (Suzanne) and son-in-law Fred Narozniak Jr., daughter A.J. (Angela) and son-in-law Bucky Heard, her grandchildren, Jazzlyn and Cydney Reese, and mother-in-law Rosina Robinson. Joan will also be remembered by brothers, Ray (Phyllis) Jacobson, Terry (Jane) Jacobson, sister-in-law Bev Jacobson (Blair Slater) and nieces and nephews, Jeff (Jaime), Chris (Steve), Neil (Rachel), Mitch, and Erica. Long time resident of Headingley, Manitoba, Joan was know for her lovely smile and her enthusiastic participation in volunteer work. She worked at the Phoenix Community Centre for eight years running the canteen and helping with the skating and dance programs and went on to volunteer with the Charleswood Figure Skating Club. She began her career at Great West Life, was an integral part of the family-owned businesses and worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was a long-time staff member at Zellers where she made many friends. An avid gardener, Joan loved to watch the deer in their yard, and loved to spend time sitting with her cat, reading a good book with a cup of tea. A great fan of movies, and particularly of Star Trek, she was always ready for the next adventure. We will miss miss you. Family and friends are invited to a gathering celebrating Joan's life at the Gates on Roblin, 6945 Roblin Blvd. (just past perimeter) on Tuesday, January 23, 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her name to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
