Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER ATAMANCHUK On Sunday, January 21, 2007 at St. Joseph's Residence, Peter Atamanchuk peacefully passed away at the age of 91 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Edith, Sonia (Richard); his grandchildren, Jayne, Lisa, Ken (Louise), Stephen, and Brad (Koleen); brother Paul (Mary); sister Katie and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Anne, his wife of 61 years; two sisters and three brothers. Peter was born on March 21, 1915 in Fishing River, MB. After graduating from the Sisters of St. Joseph Boarding School in Sifton, he went on to teach in a one-room school, married his soul-mate Anne, and farmed until 1956. They moved to Winnipeg where Peter was employed at Scott Bathgate for 35 years. As well, he enjoyed interacting with people while bartending at the Winnipeg Convention Centre for 15 years. However, Peter's main focus was his family where he was always available to act as handyman, chauffeur, gardener and more. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the caring staff at St. Joseph's Residence. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, January 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
