Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH JOHN TYHY October 20, 1923 - January 21, 2007 God has called Joseph home for supper. He was tired and ready to go. Joseph was 83 years old and had lived a good life. Dad leaves his four remaining children behind to always cherish his memory and all the good times we had with him: Dennis (Hennia) Tyhy, Smith Falls, ON, Beverly (Ronald) Deibert, Calgary, AB, Brenda (Barry) Funk, Winnipeg, MB, Sheila (Robert) McKenzie, Calgary, AB. Dad loved all of his grandchildren and spending time with them. They will go on in this world with his love and kindness to always keep close to their hearts: Lori (Steven), Steven (Angie), Bradley (Mandy), Angie (Trevor), Stephanie, Charlotte, Patrick, Jeremy, great-grandsons: Brendan and Jackson Dad was predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings, as well as his loving wife Jean (December 27, 2002); son Richard (December 30, 2005); daughter Linda (December 9, 1946); son Bruce (December 13, 1949); son Leonard (June 8, 1959). Dad married his childhood sweetheart Jean on November 10, 1945 after serving with distinction in the Second World War. After the war he worked for the C.P.R. railway for more than 30 years and after retirement became a Commissionaire. He loved to garden and always shared his bountiful labour of love with his family, friends and neighbours. He loved to give advice, even when you never asked for it. Dad made the best perogies and was nicknamed Perogie Joe . He shall be missed for his sense of humour and his generosity. Dad resided in Calgary at the time of his passing and cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial is being planned at Oak Lake Cemetery in the Spring.
