SIMONE MADELEINE SENEZ December 15, 1932 - January 22, 2007 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend passed peacefully into God's care, surrounded by her loving family. Sy will be greatly missed by her devoted husband and best friend of 53 years, Roland; children, Elisabeth (Anthony), Kathy (Laurie), Richard (Maureen) and Anne Marie (Richard); grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Melissa, Donald, Madeleine, Michael and William and many family and friends. Born in St. Adolphe, MB, Sy was predeceased by her baby brother Georges and at age four, by her mother Madeleine Leclaire (Poisson). In adulthood, by her father Louis; adoptive parents, Georges and Louise Taburet; and her dear aunt Aline Logan. Sy was very creative and in her youth, focused on piano and painting. Sy attended St. Joseph's Academy, graduated from Normal school, and taught for a brief time in St. Adolphe. Simone declined a scholarship to study piano in Paris, choosing instead to marry her life partner Roly in 1953. Together they had four children by 1959. A gentle and generous soul, Sy was devoted to her family and expressed her love through her sewing, baking, and the lavish meals she prepared. In later years, her talents took the form of embroidered baby quilts, heirlooms for the owners to cherish. Sy was an avid 10-pin bowler, and enjoyed the camaraderie of league participation and the challenge of tournaments. Sy cherished the many friendships that developed from her years of bowling and sewing. The world is a sadder place without Simone. We will miss her and love her forever. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of 3 East Palliative Care at Riverview Health Centre for their kindness and compassion. The family is also grateful to the many unknown donors whose blood gave Simone one more precious year of life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Blood Services or CancerCare Manitoba are appreciated. In keeping with Simone wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m., in St. Bernadette Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd. A private interment will take place at a later date in St. Adolphe. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
