Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRITA LYNN PAYNE (nee LAURIN) Peacefully, with her family by her side Rita passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital in the early morning of January 23, 2007 at 59 years of age. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Chuck; sons, Shaun (Pam), Shelby (Kim); grandchildren, Kayleen, Brendan, Samantha, Christian, Donavan and Alex; brothers, Marc and Jeff Laurin, as well as many relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Victor (Dick) and Lorraine Laurin. Always very upbeat and positive through her two year battle with cancer Rita was often an inspiration to others. After working as an L.P.N. at the Children's Hospital and then as a permit supervisor at the Canadian Wheat Board she decided to be a stay-at-home Mom in 1972. Prior to her illness she worked a couple of years as a lunch supervisor at the Joseph Teres Elementary School. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at the Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 26 with a public viewing from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are being conducted by Rock Fontaine Funeral Director, (204)223-2576; toll free (866)499-2601.

To Chuck, Shawn and Shelby and families I'm so sorry to hear about Rita - I am very sorry that I cannot be there tomorrow, but my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. She sure was a courageous lady and a great god-mother. I will always remember her contagious laugh and her beautiful smile.
