ELSIE KENDALL (nee MORGAN) April 12, 1917 - January 23, 2007 Peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, our beloved Mum and Grandma passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Mum was born and raised in Beulah, Manitoba where she nurtured her great love of horses. She left Beulah to attend Normal School in Winnipeg and fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher. It was at one of her postings in Darlingford, Manitoba that she met the love of her life Ross Kendall. They were married on January 3, 1944 and resided in Darlingford until our family moved to Winnipeg in 1956. Mum devoted her life to Dad and us three kids and when grandchildren came along, she was in her glory. They were her pride and joy. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her family which also included many pets throughout the years. Mum loved all animals, especially her cats, and she seemed to have a knack for tracking down the owners of all the many strays that made their way to her doorstep. Her talents were many; sewing, knitting, gardening, and playing the piano to name a few. She was modest beyond words and chose to play her part in life behind the scenes rather than in the limelight. Mum was predeceased by Dad on August 25, 2002, and will be terribly missed by her children, Rick (Jeannette), Randy (Lisa) and Maureen (Bill) and her grandchildren, Daniele, Gavin, Brent, Denis and Ross. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home and a graveside service will take place on Monday, January 29 at Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, Manitoba at 1:00 p.m. If you so wish, a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St. can be made in memory of Mum.
