ELAINE GARNHAM (nee BRUGGER) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Adrian Garnham on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Remaining to forever cherish Elaine's memory are her two sons, Darren and Byron (Diane); mother Norah; brothers, Douglas (Pat) and Donald (Gwen); grandchildren, Owen and Lauren; and nieces and nephews, Michael (Joanne), Dean, Dave and Janine. She was predeceased by her father Con. Elaine was born on November 4, 1945 in Neepawa, Manitoba. She grew up in Katrime, attended high school in McGregor and then moved to Winnipeg in 1963. She was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother. Recently, Elaine enjoyed acting as an extra in a number of movies. Elaine was a dedicated employee at the Manitoba Archives and Legislative Libraries where she received great satisfaction. She really enjoyed volunteering at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival over the past few years and also took pleasure in traveling, playing piano and shopping. Elaine will be remembered for her kind and pleasant demeanor. A funeral service for Elaine will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (at the corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). We would like to thank all of Elaine's family and friends, as well as the nursing and medical staff on the fifth and sixth floors of the St. Boniface Hospital and of CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Unit, for providing support to Elaine during the duration of her illness. We especially want to thank Pat and Doug for taking such good care of Elaine during her final months, her good friend Giselle, who Elaine spoke about often and the nursing and medical staff on 6A at St. Boniface Hospital, who were wonderful to Elaine and her family during her final days. If friends so desire, donations in Elaine's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. Elaine's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
