LENA BACCUS (nee KUZYK) Peacefully, on Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Concordia Place Care Centre, Lena Baccus at the age of 85 years has left us to rejoin Dad whom she has missed terribly since his passing June 2002. Lena will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Ken, Ben (Judy), and Dennis (Gail); sisters, Mary and Sally; brothers, Mickey (Nancy), and Wally (Mona), many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Lena was predeceased by her sister Nellie. Lena was born in Shoal Lake, MB on September 11, 1921 and was married to Gerry for 61 years before his passing. They married in 1940 and made their home in Bruxelles, MB where they started their family. They moved to Winnipeg in 1956 and mom worked in retail for a short time. Mom's life revolved around her family and home life, whether it be her home in the city or the cabin at the lake. Special thank you to the staff at Concordia Place Care Centre for their kindness to her during the short time she was there. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. also at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, with viewing prior. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made in Lena's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
