SONNYLAL (SONNY) KUARSINGH July 11, 1933 - January 27, 2007 It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Sonnylal Kuarsingh. Peacefully and with his family at his side, Sonny went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2007 at the St. Boniface General Hospital, at the age of 73. Sonny is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Darlene; his children, David (Krista), Delano, Karlene and Crystal (Corey); his grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb; and seven siblings. He is predeceased by his parents and one sister. The eldest of nine children, Sonny was born in Trinidad. After the death of his father he cared for his mother and siblings for many years. He then went on to complete his formal education and was employed with Lloyds of London. Sonny excelled at cricket - his favorite sport. In 1967, Sonny met his beautiful wife, Darlene (nee Sudama). They later moved to Canada in 1974 with their children. Sonny enjoyed a long career with the T. Eaton's Company for 19 years. He started out in the mailroom and then moved on to shipping and receiving where he worked hard and made many close friends before retiring in 1993. After retirement, he enjoyed his walks and visiting with friends. He was a huge fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and also followed International News. Sonny will be remembered as a good husband and dedicated father. He cherished the time spent with his family, grandsons, and pixie pug. Sonny will also be remembered for his sharp wit and sense of humour. The family would like to extend much gratitude to Peter and Doreen Letkeman, as well the many friends and family who extended their support during this difficult time. A memorial service honouring Sonnylal Kuarsingh will be held at Evangel Chapel Church, located at 1073 St. Mary's Road, on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital Palliative Care Ward.
