Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAX C. KANTOR Peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2007 Max passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 88 years. Max will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mireille; his brother Sam; his sister Rose (Ralph) Radwin; his brother-in-law Jacques Grandpierre, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Molly and Charles Kantor; and by his son Ronald. Max was born on July 15, 1918, and was raised in the north end of Winnipeg. He attended Machray School and St. John's High School, and obtained a Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba. As a young man, Max excelled in track and field sports. In 1938 he was the Canadian Champion in the 100-yard dash; and in 2004 he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. After university Max worked for a few years in the retail field before enlisting in the military and being sent overseas to fight in the Second World War. During his service he met his wife Mireille in Paris, and they settled in Winnipeg after the War. Max built a long successful career in the insurance business where he was highly respected for his knowledge and integrity. Max was a devoted husband to Mireille during their 61 years of marriage. He was a loving father who was extremely proud of his son Ronald. Max enjoyed socializing with friends and family, and will be remembered for his dry wit and love of puns.
