PAUL MATVEICKIKAS Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep regret we announce the passing of Paul Matveicikas, beloved husband of Meta Matveicikas on January 28, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 82. Paul leaves to mourn him his wife of 55 years, Meta; his son Peter and wife Ericka; his daughter Erika and husband Charles; grandchildren: Jennifer (Jason) and Adam (Brandy). He is also survived by his sister Gene; a sister-in-law in Lithuania and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was born on June 8, 1924 in Lithuania and came to Canada in 1949. He married Meta Neumann on September 1, 1951 and lived and worked in Winnipeg all his life. The family would like to thank Dr. Albak and the staff at the St. Boniface Pallative Care Unit for all their care and support. With respect to Paul's wishes cremation will take place and there will be a Family Memorial Service at Wojcik's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations in Paul's name can be made to Cancer Care.
