LENA GLABUSH (PETRACHEK)

LENA GLABUSH (nee PETRACHEK) On January 28, 2007 at Riverview Health Centre, Lena Glabush, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away at the age of 84 years. Lena will be sadly missed by her son Raymond (Lucy) Glabush of Winnipeg; daughters Janet Ball of Winnipeg and Christine (Ryan) Merke of Seven Sisters, MB; grandchildren, Andrew and Kristopher Glabush, Kenny (Angelica) Ohrling, Melanie Merke (Todd) and Tim Merke; great-grandchildren, Mariah, Andrea and Noah; God-daughters Michelle and Tracey. She also leaves to mourn her passing, brothers, Vincent Petrachek, Rudy (Helen) Petrachek; sisters, Ann Osowski and Francis Oster; sister-in-law, Betty Petrachek; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1986, her mother and father; brothers, Joe and Frank Petrachek; sister, Mary Zubriski. Mom and dad resided in Prawda. Upon dad's death in 1986, mom then moved to Winnipeg. Mom loved her gardening and most of all her flowers. Her door was always open to family and friends for dinners or just to have coffee with. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She always had time to bake and cook for others, even though she couldn't indulge herself. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many special friends. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ray Singer, Palliative Home Care Nurses and for the exceptional care given to mom at Riverview Health Centre. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Ave. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew and Kristopher Glabush, Tim Merke, Kenny Ohrling, Jim Osowski, and Vincent Petrachek.
