VIOLET EDITH YVONNE LARSON (nee JOHNSON) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, the family announces wife, mother and grandmother, Violet Edith Yvonne Larson (nee Johnson) has passed on to our Lord and Heavenly Father, on January 28, 2007 at Selkirk General Hospital, after a long fight and courageous battle with Leukemia and Diabetes. Vi, as she liked to be called, was the youngest of five siblings. On January 10, 1959 she met the love of her life and soulmate, Ivan. They were married 48 years. Together they raised three children. Surviving her is her daughter Nadine and husband Gary Russell of East St. Paul; two sons, Darren and wife Laura of Siglunes, and Ernest of Selkirk, MB. Three beautiful grandchildren, Candace and Chris of East St. Paul, Cory of East St. Paul and Taryn of St. Andrews. Vi was predeceased by her parents, Beda and Andrew Johnson; sisters, Shirley White Boyko, Elsie Allen, Betty Sigurdson, and Evelyn Linkletter; her in-laws, Algot and Solla Larson, Laurie Allen, and Ronald Larson. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Ashern with Pastor Jane Zinken officiating. Service will conclude at the church with a private family interment at a later date. A luncheon will follow the service at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews Randy Sigurdson, Paul White, Myles Sigurdson, Rob Allen, Pat Allen, and Jerry Allen. The family would like to thank everyone for their calls and support. Special thanks to the 911 service, Selkirk Ambulance, Selkirk Emergency Doctors and Nurses, the General Ward Doctors and Nurses, especially to Dr. Van Dyke, and Dr. Tite, and Dr. Elbardisy, and Dr. Lazack, Dr. H. Johnson of the Manitoba Clinic for all your care and compassion shown to our family over the years. You were our backbone, thank God for each and every one of you.
