KATHERINE (KAY) EVANS 1920 - 2007 Katherine (Kay) Henrietta Evans, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep in Winnipeg on January 29, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Kay is sadly, yet lovingly remembered by her children, Judie Evans (Jim Novotny), Sheila Evans, Larry Evans (Gail), Joan Matthews (Jeff). Kay was the cornerstone of her family and a woman of great strength and courage. Although practical in her own ways, she will always be remembered for her generosity and her unconditional love she had for all her family and friends. Her greatest joys and pleasures were times spent with immediate family, especially her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who will dearly miss their Nana. Kay was predeceased by her loving husband Albert of 57 years, and her son Terry. Born in Botony / Souris, MB, Kay graduated from St. Michael's Acadamy in Brandon and then proceeded to St. Joesph's in Winnipeg and University of Manitoba where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1944. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Oakview Personal Care Home for delivering care above and beyond the call of duty, Helen and Nancy you have been wonderful in caring for our Mum. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. on Thursday, February 1 at 12:30 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Winnipeg, Unit 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6, in Mum's memory.
